How Do I Get A Smoke Smell Out of Our Bernardsville School Theater?
SERVPRO Says Fog Away That Soot Smell.
When a local high school’s breaker panel malfunctioned and started a fire in the backstage of their theater after hours, SERVPRO was on the scene that night. Luckily the structure was concrete so that was structurally sound, but soot covered that backstage room and the smell of smoke was everywhere.
Our crew followed the SERVPRO-standard procedure of cleaning the Bridgewater sooty material that could be removed first and then fogging all areas of the school where the smell had traveled.
Fogging is not a perfume or fragrance to cover unpleasant smells. The fog used in this case reacted with the smoke molecules to break them down and get rid of the smell. There are other fogs formulated for other remediations we perform, such as mold.
In the end this job also required special sealing paint to cover the soot stains, which then gets a coat of regular paint over it. In the end, the school got back their backstage better than before, “Like it never even happened.”
When the Bernardsville Fire Co. has a water problem, they call SERVPRO.
Earlier this month, the Bernardsville Fire Company discovered that they had a leak in their kitchen, spreading water through both floors of their fire house. They called us on a Sunday morning and we were there within the hour. SERVPRO extracted the standing water and got to work removing the drywall and other soaked materials that couldn’t be saved. Our industrial dehumidifiers and air movers did their job getting excess moisture out of what could be saved. By Wednesday the whole facility was clean and dry, "Like it never even happened."
Let SERVPRO of Bridgwater be your first phone call when it comes to your fire damage. We will be prepared for your call. Give us a call no matter the time or the day at (908) 222-2020.
